Hi,
Just was wondering if anyone had some info on this...from what I've heard there was an unbelievable performace of Vinnie with Tim Landers(?) on Bass at a PASIC show (1988 maybe?) I've heard rumour that Vinnie's playing was the most intense, aggressive and "out" playing ever.
Anyone have any 'history' info? Or know if it's available out there?
Thanks,
Rob

It Is very intense indeed!!! I have a full audio recording of it if you want. I thought everyone had this. My recording was taken from my walkman right in front of Vinnie's drums. Good quality recording. It was the first time I had seen him live and it was awesome!

Was that the PASIC '85 gig where he blew everyone away and then immediately following in an MD interview said that he wanted to have a teacher look at his hands and that he wanted to change some aspects of his playing?

I have said b4 that i had a cassette tape recording of 1 of the stops [FL] of the infamous VC/TL clinic tour ['84 or '5], but was lost by a good friend [who is still to this day - he'd HAVE to be!] who borrowed it a couple daze after the taping...but i know 2 other drummers who may still have their copies... guess i'm finally gonna have to get off my duff & TRY to coaxe a dupe outta boaf of 'em [if'n i'se cans] , but i have to be very careful about it; these types of operations can be EXTREMELY delicate - root for me, guys

Yes, & Stever - i do remember that all the local drummin cats [some of which you could hear on the tape yelp in disbelief much like you did on that Weckl "In Flight" mp3 ;} ] left that particular event w/ singed eyebrows, buzz-cuts, &/or reverse Mohawks...
lemme sees what i'se can do's

yeah didn't VC talk about this in a MD interview years ago (the crazy cover with him wearing a purple suit) ? i think his response on the PASIC thing was something like "yeah...i just took it LEFT". please MP3s or long-distance tape hook-up if possible (30043 here). will trade for wackerman/holdsworth live, dennis/stern live bootlegs.
